My ultimate, kind-of-last-minute, don't-even-have-to-be-a-dad-to-enjoy-these-things, local Father's Day gift guide:

1. Temple Duffel Bag, $350 at J.E.M.
These waterproof weekend duffel bags are made from repurposed WWII military canvas.

2. NPR Map, $9.95 at Black Ink
This glove-box guide tells you every NPR station in the US. Forget staticy channel surfing—the map includes interstate highways so you don't even have to know the nearest town to hit the right station.

3. Randolph Engineering Aviators, $180 at Stel’s
C
lassic, aviator shades are always a good bet.

4. Watch Movement Cuff Links, $150 at Good
These sterling gadget cuff links were taken from mid-20th century watches. The size (approx 3/4”) and layout varies, and they come complete with leather box and authenticity card.

5. The Seven Year Pen, $7.50 at Abodeon
These pens can write 2 m (6 1/2 feet) per day for 7
. This makes $7.50 a definite steal. I think if anyone can hold onto it for 7 years the company should issue an automatic refund.

6. Whiskey Stones, $20 at Acquire
If your dad likes his whiskey with diluted water (like my Grandpa), then you should go with ice. If he’s looking for “on the rocks” without the melt, these stone cubes are chilled and sit at a perfect 50 degrees fahrenheit (the ideal sipping temp).

7. Buckyballs, $30 at Joie De Vivre
I’m telling you these won’t disappoint. I gave them as an X-mas gift. Let this video do the talking.

8. Sharps Kid Glove Shave Gel, $8 at Uniform
Uniform stocks a ton of men’s beauty products, including this shave gel (a customer favorite).

9. Umbra Walnut Checker Board, $275 at Louis Boston
A new take on the checker board. I’m not certain how “king me” works with spheres, but I'm sure they’ve got it figured out.

10. Castaway Nobadeer Swimsuit, $58 at North River Outfitter
I finally gave my dad a bathing suit last year for Father’s Day because his tattered, flesh-tone one made us all a little uneasy. An updated swimsuit is really a gift for the whole family!
